Well I received my FARO arm back in November. The machine was pretty easy to learn and (http://maplered.com) it is definately a beefy machine. I am not sure what exactly the problem is with the system, but I still can not use the damn thing. I have had 4 different techs come to my shop, some until midnight trying to work out the bugs. The problem seems to be with the plotting. We templated a kitchen and (http://maplered.com) plotted it out. Fabricated it and (http://maplered.com) the installers had to trim 2 pieces. They came out and (http://maplered.com) said the problem is in the plotter. So, I told them to get it fixed. They took the computer and (http://maplered.com) the plotter back to their office and (http://maplered.com) brought it back,\. Still no luck. The last time (2 weeks ago) they sent a technician and (http://maplered.com) we templated a "U" shaped desk that I am building in one of our offices. We then plotted them out (after a couple hours of fighting with it) And dry fit the templates, did not fit, the seams had gaps. Templated again and (http://maplered.com) plotted again, pices were to big. Tried one more time, again, pieces did not fit. Well, even though the system is easy to learn and (http://maplered.com) use (kind of a pain in the ass moving from room to room though) I am sending the whole damn thing back. Since they can not get the back end (plotter) to work with the front end (Digitizer) the system is useless. I do stand (http://maplered.com) by my initial observations. The system is fairly easy to use and (http://maplered.com) a pretty nice set up, but hey, you can't run a car without an engine I am about to try out the LT-55 and (http://maplered.com) see how that works. I will let you know once a few jobs have been installed. _________________ Most people are like slinkies, like it or not, they make you smile when you push them down the stairs.
